As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water with basic knowledge of safety considerations
• Comfortable in deep water and basic ability to use watercraft such as surfboard, paddleboard, or kayak
• Ability to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, tread water without hands for 2 minutes, etc.)
• Experience working with or teaching children is preferred
• Red Cross Certification or WSI certification is preferred but not required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
